Starting a steady gig in my hometown soon!

I’m really looking forward to it and I’m so excited because it starts soon and therefore I can not keep it to myself any longer:
from April on there will be a regular live music event in a beautiful location right in the heart of Bingen, the Geniesserei Alte Wache!
Who else beside me will be part of the house and and how the concept looks exactly I may not yet betrayed. What I can already say is that there has never been such a thing in Bingen and surroundings, that it is unique in the region and that the event is called “Spätschicht”.
If you are getting excited too please tell your friends, spread the news about and mark the 21st of March in your calendar because that’s the day of the big kick-off event of “Spätschicht”. More news about that will be coming up soon! 🙂

New Years Resolutions

Hello Guys!
Good to see you all again safe and sound in 2019!
I have to admit that I have been a bit lazy last year in terms of keeping you updated here and posting more frequently is one of my New Years resolutions.
Oh, hold on for a second: that’s already my first post in 2019, right? 😉
More exciting news will be coming soon!

Cheers,
Joerg

Wolf Codera Session Possible: awesome!

It’s been over 2 years since I last played at Wolf Codera Session Possible and so I was very happy when I got the call from Wolf Codera last December who said we wanted me again for one or two shows in early 2017. As we talked it became clear that I would not only be the bass player at that sessions but also the musical director at three gigs in three different locations.
That means I picked the musicians from my network, choose the songs from the vocalists repertoire, put together the setlist for each gig et cetera. The musicians I formed the band from without one exception had never played at a Session Possible before and so we were all pretty excited about it would work out. Actually it worked very well and the band played together as a great team so it was comfortable for the various vocalists to perform on top of it.
Each gig was a success and everybody was having a great time.
I want to say thank you to Wolf Codera who made it all possible 😉 and to

the band:
– Stephen Denbrock (drums)
– Stefan Kahne (guitar, vocals)
– Dario Karkovic (keyboards, vocals)
– Markus Zimmermann (keyboards, vocals)

the vocalists:
– Tamara Bencsik (the only singer singing at all three gigs)
– Mirjam von Eigen
– Viktoria Miller
– Tiffy Aris
– Rino Galiano
– Kieron

We all enjoyed it very much and we can’t wait to do that again.
Hope to see you all soon.

I joined a new band!

I’m very happy to announce that I’m the bass provider of the just founded Supertramp Tribute Band called Century’s Crime.
Although the band was born only a few weeks ago we will play the first show already on July 3rd and a bunch of more shows are confirmed by now. Please check the growing list of dates on the frequently website and see us perform all the timeless hits like Dreamer, School, Breakfast in America, Goodbye Stranger, It’s Raining Again, The Logical Song and many more.

Gig at an Apple corporate event

Last Monday I was booked for a show at an Apple corporate event in Frankfurt. My bandmates in the backing band for Lisa Bund were Patrick Embach (keys & vocals), Patrick Schneller (drums) and Mathhias Kloepsch (guitar & vocals).
At first we were a bit confused because we were allready asked to please play not too loud although we were booked as a party band. But after the first couple of songs our doubts were gone and it was clear that we were the right band at the right event. The place was packed with more than 200 Apple employees who wanted to have fun. And as they started to party like there is no tomorrow all thoughts about the volume limit suddenly were gone 🙂 Everybody was having a good time and I’m looking forward to play with this great band again soon.

TRUE COLLINS welcomes the new guy

With the end of 2011 came a change in the lineup of TRUE COLLINS: After being a member from the very beginning, Harry decided
to go into a different direction and it was his wish to leave the band. So me and the other original members give a warm welcome to Pino, our new guitar player. I’m looking forward to the gigs with him and to the time we will spend together. Take a chance and check him out and feel the fresh wind he’s bringing in!

Sub gig with “Sheerocks”

Yesterday I played the first gig as sub with the rock coverband called “Sheerocks”. It was at the X-Mas Rock at Stadthalle Eberbach. The venue was packed with almost 700 people who celebrated Christmas and enjoyed good straight rock music from Lenny Kravitz to ACDC. I had I lot of fun with this cooking band and I’m looking forward to be the sub again in May 2012. Watch out for Sheerocks when they are gigging near you!
